Anxiety is one of the greatest challenges of our time. Research shows that Brazil is the most anxious country in the world — and many Christians feel guilty for feeling anxious, as if it were a lack of faith.
But the Bible doesn’t ignore anxiety — it embraces it, understands it and shows us the path to overcome it. 🙏
The Bible Acknowledges Anxiety
Before talking about biblical solutions, it’s important to understand that the Bible doesn’t deny that anxiety exists. David, Elijah, Paul and even Jesus himself expressed anguish and emotional suffering.
“My soul is in deep anguish.” — Psalm 6:3
“In my distress I called to the Lord.” — Psalm 120:1
Feeling anxious is not a lack of faith — it’s being human. What the Bible teaches us is how to deal with it in a healthy and spiritual way.
The Most Powerful Verse About Anxiety
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:6-7
Paul didn’t say “don’t feel anxious” — he said “do not be anxious.” The difference is huge. And the solution he presents is practical: prayer + petition + thanksgiving = peace that transcends understanding.
